Municipal Waste Europe, MWE, is now recruiting a Secretary General based in Brussels. MWE is the European umbrella association representing public waste management authorities and operators across Europe.
The role as General Secretary involves leading the organisation and secretariat with responsibility for strategic direction, daily operations and external representation. The focus is on driving MWE's policy and advocacy work towards EU institutions, particularly in waste legislation, circular economy, resource efficiency and climate and environmental policy affecting the waste sector.
Place to work: Brussels
Starting date: as soon as possible
The position will be focusing on providing technical support to the portfolio design and implementation in the Arab States region for vertical funds and other donors. The RTS will have dual reporting lines to the Regional Team Lead (RTL) on environment and energy for Arab States and the Director of the Chemicals and Waste Team. Strong background in the waste area is required, as is fluency in English and Arabic.

Nya och utökade ansvarsområden innebär fler avtal. Digitalisering samt införande av verksamhetssystem är ett utvecklingsområde som berör tjänsten, bland annat underhåll av kundregister. Du kan även delta i stadsbyggnadsprojekt och bevaka avfallsfrågor i kommande detaljplaner.
