New bins have arrived
Yet one donation of Swedish garbage bins has reached Ukraine.
This time it is Ystad municipality that has sent just over 500 bins to Kremenchuk. The bins became redundant when the municipality introduced four-compartment bins, but in Ukraine they are getting a new lease of life and fulfilling an important function. Sweden's surplus becomes their cornerstone – and contributes to creating cleaner and safer environments.
– When we saw the opportunity to support Ukraine in the work to build a modern and sustainable waste management system, it was obvious to help, says Marika Tagel Mårtensson, waste manager in Ystad municipality.
